Just an honest conversation between young people and a veteran about military service, personal experience, returning to civilian life, and the things that can sometimes be difficult to ask about. It’s an opportunity to hear a personal story, ask your questions, better understand veterans’ experiences, and have an open, genuine conversation.
☕ Over a Cup of Coffee with a Hero
On October 1 at 3:30 PM, we invite young people to an informal meeting with a veteran for an honest and open conversation over a cup of coffee.
“Over a Cup of Coffee with a Hero” is a space for open dialogue between young people and a veteran. No formal speeches, scripted interviews, or predetermined answers. Just a real conversation, an opportunity to listen, ask questions, and better understand the experience of someone who has served in the military.
During the meeting, we will talk about military service and personal experience, the transition back to civilian life, changes after the war, challenges veterans may face, and how young people can better understand and support veterans in society.
We want to create an atmosphere where participants can ask questions that often remain unspoken. You do not need to be an expert or prepare a speech in advance — all you need is curiosity, respect, and a willingness to have an honest conversation.
Who is it for?
The meeting is designed for young people aged 13–25 who want to learn more about veterans’ experiences, hear a personal story, and take part in an open dialogue.
